What is Thanet Quilters? An umbrella organisation for patchwork and quilters in the Thanet Area.
When are the meetings held? Meetings are held quarterly on the first Tuesday evening of March, June and October. Doors open at 7.00 pm for a 7.30 pm start. The fourth meeting is reserved for the Christmas Fair (usually the last Saturday in November or first Saturday in December).
Where are meetings held? Church House, Kent Gardens, Birchington, Kent CT7 9RS
Is there a membership fee? No! Attendance at meetings is by door entry. Currently the charge is £3.00
Do I need to belong to a Quilt Group to attend? We welcome independent members. No affiliation to a Quilt Group is necessary.
What is the format of the meetings? There is a speaker for the meeting, followed by a tea/coffee break. The second half of the meeting is Show and Tell and we welcome members to show their work and give a brief talk about it. A trader is in attendance to entice us with more quilting supplies. There is also a raffle.
Are there any other events? Workshops are held throughout the year. Usually the Tuesday evening speaker will hold a workshop the following day. We hold National Quilting Day events which offer the opportunity for us to make items to support charitable organisations.
